Francisco, 1850. Captain of the 'Pilgrim', Jonathan Clark, nicknamed
the Man from Boston, returns to port. After two years spent seal hunting
in Alaska, Clark and his crew are happy to be back on dry land. Rich
from the hundreds of skins piled up in the hold, Jonathan loudly
proclaims his intention to buy Alaska for ten million dollars...
