"The Stepford Wives has grown in stature as a cult film over the years, and the term Stepford or Stepford wife has become a popular science fiction concept. Several sequels to the film were made, as well as a big-budget remake in 2004 that used the same title." 

 

Synopsis :

In the small town of Stepford, the women are completely submissive to their lazy husbands: they happily take care of all the household chores and demonstrate a glaring lack of intelligence, while the men make all the decisions. Joanna (Katharine Ross) and her friend Bobbie (Paula Prentiss), worried about this state of affairs, begin to investigate. They are not at the end of their surprises.

 

Synopsis :

Dans la petite ville de Stepford, les femmes sont entièrement soumises à leurs paresseux maris : elles s'occupent volontiers de toutes les tâches ménagères et font preuve d'un manque flagrant d'intelligence, alors que les hommes prennent toutes les décisions. Joanna (Katharine Ross) et son amie Bobbie (Paula Prentiss), s'inquiétant de cet état de fait, commencent à mener l'enquête. Elles ne sont pas au bout de leurs surprises.
